We’ve tried to cover the most frequently asked questions, and in the order you’ll probably need them to plan your wedding. If we’ve missed anything or you’d like to know more, we’d be happy to help.

For small weddings (up to 50 people) or vow renewal ceremonies, contact us with your preferred date for prices.

We are legally required to be on-site for all marriages conducted by the registrar and make a £300.00 charge for providing this service. This fee is waived for celebrant or reception-only bookings.
Price based on exclusive hire including tables and chairs
All prices exclude VAT (VAT Registration Number 162 2037 02)
An additional £500 damage and cleaning deposit is chargeable with all bookings and, on condition the venue is handed back to us in the same state as at the commencement of hiring, will be refunded post-event.

Full and exclusive use of the venue including: the ceremony room, tithe barn, fully equipped bar, the courtyard gardens, use of our tables and chairs for the ceremony and dining, outdoor seating, outdoor lighting, fairy lights, easel. We also offer the opportunity to take photographs of the couple and close family in our private gardens and at the front of the house. All prices are exclusive of VAT.

Day before your event – decoration and preparation – 12pm to 6pm.

Day of your event – wedding celebrations – 10am to Midnight.

Day after your event – cleaning and handover – 10am to 1pm

The ceremony room will comfortably seat 110 guests, the tithe barn seats 120 for the wedding breakfast. If you are planning a micro wedding (up to 30 people) or renewal of vows you may choose to use the smaller barn for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Your hire includes full use of all three barns so you can plan your day to suit your needs. We make no additional charge for evening guests.

We offer a celebrant service and would be delighted to help bring your wedding together, from working with you to write your vows to creating your unique ceremony. Contact us for further information and to arrange a consultation.

Our list represents the catering companies who have had the very best feedback from our couples, but of course we are happy to welcome others. Talk to us before you book, we know most of them and can help you find the one that works best for you. All caterers at The Courtyard Venue must make contact with us before your an event to furnish us with key information.

Tipples usually run the bar at The Courtyard. They have a range of packages to suit all budgets and can’t be beaten on quality, value or service. Further information on our partners’ page or

If you would like to use another bar provider, let us know and we will arrange a visit with them.

Our license is until midnight, with last orders at 11.40pm. Music must not be played after midnight as per the terms of our license. All guests, caterers, musicians, DJs and other suppliers must be off site by 12.30am when the buildings and gates are locked.

We have accommodation for the Bride and Groom available in our fully restored gatehouse. For your guests, there are links on our partners’ page to wonderful self-catering accommodation nearby, suitable for families and groups. For those who’d prefer a hotel, the nearest would be where many of our guests choose to stay.

It’s important to ensure your guests have transport arranged in good time, we are in a rural area with no 4G so last-minute booking, Uber and other apps won’t work once they’ve arrived!
